  Rachel was my midwife during my two pregnancies and births. She is amazing, really caring, professional, she shares very valuable information (she even sends you papers with up-to-date research) . She provides a personalized care and respects your choices. During birth the team was really supportive, they let the experience be amazing. During postpartum I felt really cared for in everything I needed. I couldn’t recommend Rock Creek Midwifery more.

  If I could give 10 stars I would. I chose Rock Creek Midwifery for the birth of my second baby after a bad experience with an OBGYN. From the moment I started working with Rachel I understood that it was a completely different kind of care. Every step of the way was personalized. We would talk for an hour+ at every appointment, making sure all my questions and concerns were answered. When I was ready to go into labor I was confident I was in good hands, and could just focus on bringing my baby into the world. The Rock Creek midwifery team worked in my home respectfully and efficiently. I was so well taken care of before, during, and after my little girl came, it truly felt like maternal care fit for a goddess.

  Oh we have so many good things to say about the Rock Creek Midwifery team! The care and guidance we received throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period were phenomenal. Rachel and Brittany are both incredibly kind, warm, caring, knowledgeable, and proficient. They offer guidance when asked but also want to give the information and let you make decisions for yourself. I went into labor much earlier than expected, which threw us into a bit of a tail spin, and their support was invaluable. I labored for longer than any of us imagined (baby ended up being posterior), but the Rock Creek team was in it for the long haul. They never rushed me or added any pressure; they walked the fine line of offering support and giving space; and they walked us through what needed to be done to finally move baby down. Baby was born healthy, but the placenta gave us some issues, and I lost a lot of blood. Rachel, Brittany, and their team worked calmly and quickly to make sure I was safe. Baby and I are both happy and healthy and so grateful to have had the home birth we so badly wanted (this was attempt #2 after our first with a different midwife ended in a transfer). The postpartum period was something that also stood out to me. My care didn’t end after baby was born, and the follow-up appointments were incredibly thorough and helpful, making me feel like I wasn’t just “dropped” after the baby came. Follow-up testing helped identify my needs in recovery, and I just felt so very cared for as I healed. I can’t thank the Rock Creek Midwifery team enough for all the ways they loved and served our family through it all. I was so nervous after our first birth went so differently than we’d hoped, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support we had on that journey!

  Couldn't be happier with the level of care Rachel provided throughout my pregnancy and after. I was very well taken care of and listened to throughout this pregnancy, and the team at my birth was wonderful - supportive, unobtrusive, caring, and professional. I knew we were prepared for any possible scenarios, and felt very safe in birthing at home because of that. I hope to be able to work with her again, and would absolutely recommend to anyone interested in midwifery support of any kind.
